They should, but that&#039;s not always the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help you optimize your business for local SEO, I&#039;ve created this case study covering local SEO tips and tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But first let&#039;s see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-local-seo-cos-e\">What is Local SEO?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Local SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the process of improving the search engine visibility of local businesses, primarily those with physical locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By following local SEO best practices, businesses can increase organic traffic from searches performed by users in nearby areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Search engines rely on signals like local content, social profile pages, links, and citations to provide users with the most relevant local results to gather information for local searches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With local SEO, businesses can position their products and services to local potential customers and customers searching for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-come-ho-posizionato-il-sito-di-uno-studio-notarile-ai-primi-posti-su-google\">How I positioned a notary&#039;s website at the top of Google<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-audit-local-seo\">1. Local SEO Audit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Audit-local-SEO.jpg\" alt=\"Local SEO Audit\" class=\"wp-image-27079\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>First, I conducted an in-depth SEO analysis that included multiple elements, both on-site and off-site, for the client&#039;s website. To achieve this, I used essential tools: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.screamingfrog.co.uk\/seo-spider\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Screaming Frog<\/a>, Ahrefs and Google Search Console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case I used Screaming Frog, ideal for finding errors on the site and configuring both the On Page SEO and the technical SEO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the free version in most cases as it offers an audit of 500 pages per website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, once the audit was finished, I exported the data file. This was very useful for improving my On-Page SEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Esegui-laudit-local-SEO-ed-esporta-il-file-con-i-dati.png\" alt=\"Run the local SEO audit and export the data file \" class=\"wp-image-27063\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I then went to the \u201cProblems\u201d section and found all the errors present on the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Local-SEO-Audit-Sistema-gli-errori-del-sito.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27064\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The major problems were related to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Low content pages (&lt;350 words)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Missing H1s and generally pages without a well-defined Headings structure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lack of a page structure that coincides with internal linking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Same keywords optimized on different pages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slow pages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Images: Missing alt text and image size too large<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Page titles (SEO) that exceeded 65 characters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insufficient backlinks from few sources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The system I used is completely free, I could also use paid tools like Ahrefs or Semrush for a thorough and complete audit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once I had a clear idea of the site, I conducted a<a href=\"https:\/\/darkslateblue-oryx-300132.hostingersite.com\/ricerca-parole-chiave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Keyword research to determine the best SEO approach.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-sviluppo-della-strategia-local-seo\">2. Local SEO strategy development<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Sviluppo-della-strategia-Local-SEO.jpg\" alt=\"Local SEO strategy development\" class=\"wp-image-27077\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I have divided my strategy into three main actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On-Page SEO Optimization and Technical SEO Corrections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Content improvements and restructuring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Backlink profile improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ottimizzazion-seo-on-page-e-correzioni-tecnical-seo\">On-Page SEO Optimization and Technical SEO Corrections<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Ottimizzazion-SEO-On-Page-e-correzioni-Tecnical-SEO.jpg\" alt=\"On-Page SEO Optimization and Technical SEO Corrections\" class=\"wp-image-27078\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Never underestimate the importance of good On-Page SEO optimization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An article or page must be optimized following the \u201c3 kings\u201d rule:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>URL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SEO Title<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>H1<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything must be done based on the word(s) chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I followed this arrangement for the SEO title, URL and H1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705 SEO Title: \u201cKeyword\u201d | \u201cLocation\u201d | \u201cLaw Firm Name\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705Good H1: \u201cPlace\u201d \u201cKeyword\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705URL: \u201d \u201cKeyword\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I then took into account the 4 On Page Ranking elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Primary keyword and where it is inserted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Variation of the primary keyword<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contextual Terms \/ (LSI)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Word count<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>I have been optimizing the various SEO titles as well as the meta descriptions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, I worked on the site structure. I needed to restructure the website so that Google&#039;s spiders could better understand it, so I implemented internal linking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then we had to fix the technical issues found during the first phase of the audit. I started with a huge problem: page speed. See the results below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speed first<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Velocita-prima.jpg\" alt=\"Speed first\" class=\"wp-image-27072\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Speed after<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Velocita-dopo.jpg\" alt=\"Speed after\" class=\"wp-image-27073\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-miglioramenti-e-ristrutturazione-dei-contenuti\">Content improvements and restructuring<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Struttura-del-sito-Local-SEO.png\" alt=\"Local SEO Site Structure\" class=\"wp-image-27075\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I defined the main and support pages based on keywords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the main pages and support pages, I have created FAQ sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ideal would be to always look at what the competition is doing, that is, how they structure their content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-profilo-backlink\">Backlink Profile<\/h4>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Strategia-link-building.png\" alt=\"Link building strategy\" class=\"wp-image-27076\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The third part of the strategy is probably the most talked about in the SEO world. First, I looked at the existing backlink profile with Ahrefs. The purpose of this inspection was to determine whether the backlinks were valid or whether they were harming the website&#039;s authority. Some things to check are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>DR (Domain Rating)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Traffic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spam Score<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TF (Trust Flow) and CF (Citation Flow)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In this client&#039;s case, I actually needed to remove some backlinks that were harming the website. After cleaning them, I created 100 backlinks from various platforms within a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-risultati-della-campagna-confronto-con-l-iniziale\">3. Campaign results (comparison with the initial)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/adriangram.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Risultati-della-campagna-Local-SEO.jpg\" alt=\"Local SEO Campaign Results\" class=\"wp-image-27069\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I reached the top spot for most of the keywords I optimized. The entire process took about two months, which exceeded my expectations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are certainly no guarantees when it comes to SEO.
